No. It is a typing only application so unless you want to use the stylus to press the keys on the virtual keyboard, it is useless.

You'll need a capacitive stylus, ie one that can hold an electric charge.
They sell ones specifically for the iPad I believe.

No, but there are other apps that will let you write notes on the screen. Noteshelf and Penultimate are the two that I use.
