Hey everyone,
I have been using MakeMKV and Handbrake for years to rip my Blu-Rays and DVDs to my computer for use with my AppleTV 2. I recently found the awesomeness that is Subler for adding metadata to the files. I have been trying to figure out exactly how the program works in regards to audio.
When I rip my movies, I rip it with the DTS audio track, then convert it with Handbrake to an AAC CoreAudio Dolby Pro Logic II track, and a second audio track with AC-3 6 channel discrete.
My question is, with Subler, I open the movie I want to add data to, and it brings up the list of audio tracks and checkboxes. Should I be checking the checkbox for the AC-3 audio as well as the AAC one? Or should I be leaving the checkbox blank? Also, what should I be doing with the chapter box?
I dont really understand what these check boxes do and the subler wiki is largely unhelpful in regard to what they actually DO, and instead just basically says "defaults are probably right, but you can check stuff if you want".
I just want to ensure that my audio tracks will both remain, and can be selected from the drop down box on iTunes or from the audio selector on the Apple TV. I should also say that I have already turned off the "convert AC-3 to AAC" checkbox in preferences to make sure it doesn't do that...
Which settings in these checkboxes will basically do a full passthrough of what I already have, and just add the metadata to the movie and NOTHING else?
Thanks for the help.
