I only know one way. export them from ical to your desktop. then go into iCloud and create them again. then wait til they appear on ical as iCloud calendars and then import in to those new calendars. It will ask if you want to import as a new calendar or import into an existing calendar. Tell it existing and then point to the new iCloud calendar.

there's gotta be an easier way.
 
Got it! It's so simple it's hard to figure out.

Alright, export your subscribed calendar to your desktop.

Go to iCloud and create a new calendar (top left, click edit, click the +)

The new calendar should be named "untiled 1"

Drag and drop the exported file to the new event that is still named "untitled 1"

Thats it! Subscription imported...

I've seen this solution in a few places but that only imports the events currently in the subscribed calendar. Once the calendar owner changes or updates the calendar those changes never make it to your calendar which negates the whole point of a subscribed calendar.

Take a look at the .ics files in a text editor - you'll see that they just contain events currently on the calendar but no indication about any sort of subscription to a URL.

If you follow my convoluted approach you should be fine. I exported and then imported 3 calendars just fine.
When exporting calendar number 2 just click on it in ical.

That's what I thought would happen. It's too bad - I'd like to move everything to iCloud.
 
I managed to subscribe to a iCal calendar on iCloud (not sure if this is exactly what you want) by going to iCal on my Mac, then going to Calendar->Subscribe and pasting the Calendar URL there. You will be able to select the location, and if you select iCloud it will show up on all of your iDevices.

I'm not sure if there's a way to do this through the web interface or iOS though.

In Ical select your subscription calendar and get info for that calendar then select location and change from on my mac to iCloud
