As far as I can tell, no text processor on iPad (including Pages) allows typing subscripts and superscripts - for a chemist a non-starter. I can cut and paste subscripts and superscripts from existing documents created on my Mac, but it seems ridiculous that Apple should have banned all developers from including this feature. Even Quickoffice, which has subscripts on superscripts under Android on a Nexus tablet is plainly missing this feature on my iPad.

I can't write texts without subscripts and superscripts! Any suggestions? Help!!

In iOS 8 there are now Keyboard Extensions. There are a couple of Chemistry keyboards. Just go search for them in the store.

(Full disclosure, I wrote one. )
