Subtitle in a movie

Hi, I have a Sony Bravia TV have usb in it , and I want to play a movie with a subtitle from the usb, I tried to rename the movie and the subtitle with the same name but this doesn't work , So is there a program for Macintosh that merge the subtitle in the movie,"I mean that the subtitle is built in in the movie without existing two file one for the movie and another srt file" that make this possible to play it from usb on a TV. Big thx in advance.

Handbrake should be able to burn in the subs.

You could also look up your manual and check what works for your TV, with respect to external subtitles.
