Subtitles on AVI to M4V encodes

Is there an easy way to retain the subtitles (or add them back) on AVI files when converting them to ATV compatible ones?

I have HandBrake, VisualHub and QT Pro. Cheers.

Miyu. use google, comes out top.

It's first rate, but does require you to re-render the video.
