Subtitles won't show up

Hi,

since yesterday my subtitles won't show up in applications like the DVD-player, iSkysoft iMedia Converter Deluxe... They only show up in VLC. Now the problem is that I want to rip/backup my dvd's on my mac and so it won't take over the subtitles from my movies... Any idea about what I could do to let my subtitles show up again?

I've been googling a lot but I haven't found a solution, I hope I will find one on this forum...
