I just purchased an iMac G5 for my folks and was wondering if I could just buy a subwoofer to complement the built-in speakers. I know the the built-in's are not the best sound quality, but offloading the low-frequencies with a subwoofer would probably enhance sound quality enough for their purposes without adding a whole bunch of items and wires to the desktop.
I did a quick search and learned that there was an iSub made by Harmon Kardon that was available for the original iMac but it looks like it has been discontinued. When I googled "imac g5 subwoofer" the first result was the Apple iMac Software page which has this blurb:

So, where can one buy one of these "USB subwoofers"? The Apple Store didn't have them and after Googling for 15 minutes I haven't been able to find any subwoofer-only add ons.Speakers
Turn your iMac into a home theatre or dance all night with additional speakers. Plug in a USB subwoofer, or use the optical digital out to connect a 5.1 surround sound system.
