Sudden appearance of "Developer" folder on system HD

I've had a search but didn't really find much...

Its just suddenly appeared 😕 I don't even have the dev tools installed.

I had it with 10.5.2 and now its back with 10.5.3, deleting it requires User/Password...

Safe to delete? Is there anything else that might have appeared that I should ditch too?

it contains Alias' to two apple programs, Jar Bundler and Applet Launcher...

Deletable?

I have noticed the same thing on my macbook, i'd like to delete it, any info?

It's safe to delete, it only contains developer tools for making applications, nothing important in there.
