Greetings,
I seem to go thru all sorts of unexpected glitches with my new MBP. A few Safari misfirings already, and now, a Server Error in Mail.
See attached illustrations.
Everything was working fine yesterday: error started to appear today.
Any advice? Any will be highly welcome.
Thanks in advance.

Change your port to 587 and it should work.

Thanks for the prompt reply, iHerzeleid. I did the change, and now I get a new Mail receive error - with port 587 mentioned.
Also, I realize I am getting a RECEIVE error - see attached screen print about port 143!!

I actually do not plan to have Mail as my main business mail resource seems a little flaky anyhow, unless i am doing something wrong, but WHAT? - back to OutlokkExpress for now!), but I want to use it for my .Mac account.

Thanks again for your attention to this matter!

It could be that your ISP is blocking access to SMTP servers that are not its own. Mine does. When I'm home, I use smtp.myisp.com and on the road I switch to smtp.mac.com. Do you have the details of your ISP's mail servers?
