Sudden speed problem

I have photoshop cs4 on my white macbook. Photoshop worked fine till now. My cpu useage is at 100% now everytime i use it. my ram is 4gb. I also noticed today when i scanned an image in and i had soundbooth on, the cpu useage was also at 100. It wasnt like this b3fore untill recently. Anything i can do?

I'm not sure but if its dual core could it be 100% for one cpu. Does it actually feel slower?
