    Hey guy's,

If it isn't one issue it's another.

I went to contacts and clicked on my best friends name, clicked on "Text Message", typed a short text and sent it......It went to my girlfriend!! (thankfully nothing nasty).

After diving into what the hell went wrong and trying it several more times but using different contacts EVERY text that I typed was about to go to a different person had I actually sent a text.

OR the other problem with texting that I'm suddenly having is actually picking a contact to text then when the text window overlays there is NO name in the To: line.

All I kinda ask is WHY WHY WHY so many issues with iPhone 4?

    Thanks for your input.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

No. Virgin. Brand new actually from Apple in a sealed new box about 2 weeks ago. I had 4 phones replaced for "slide to unlock" issues, now even this one started having slide to unlock issues.

Already done enough restores, resets, syncs, power offs/on than I have done on the last 15 years worth of cell phones.

I am very much disgusted with the iPhone 4 and would die to have my 3GS back, no problems with it.

Swear to God himself, not one beer. I'm recreating the issue right now. It's insane. I wished I could make a video of it and post it for you guys.

Did I mention this was an iPhone 5? Just kidding, all this talk around here about iP5 is making me sick.

Maybe try backup and restore? Can you take a series of screenshots as you go through the process and upload them?

    One second too late boss.king.
I just erased all content and settings. Going to try all over again but I will say this...Talk about not trusting the iPhone 4 any longer!!

If you really have this problem, take your phone to an Apple store and show them. I'm sure they will be very interested.

If you want to video the problem and post it on YouTube, take your phone to a Samsung store and show them. I'm sure they will be more than happy to help.

You are truly the one in 300,000,000 exception though, so make hay while the sun shines as they say, and make the most of your 15 minutes of fame.

You sure it's not your provider, instead of assuming it's the iPhone?

Did you ever set the phone(s) up as new?

It could be one file in your backups that messing you up. I've seen it happen before.

    Wirelessly posted (iPhone : Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_5 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8L1 Safari/6533.18.5)

Sounds like you have a corruption issue somewhere in your contacts. I've had the same slide to unlock issues and the fix was to delete all my contacts on both phone and Mac and create all entries from scratch. Worked for me. YMMV.

My quick thought there is a problem with his contacts. He should check to see if the proper number is displayed on both the contacts in his phone and whatever (if) he syncs to. If they look OK text from the contact and call from the contact. Just basic troubleshooting.

I have the exact same problem with my IP4 too. Called Apple last year about it, emailed them a video of it and nothing ever came of it. Took it to an Apple store earlier this year and they couldn't fix it, so they gave me a new phone. Guess what, still did it with the new phone. I showed this to my friend recently and he could get his IP4 to do it also. Here's how it occurs.

    1. All previous texts have to be deleted (no text history)
    2. Select a person through the 'contacts' app
    3. Hit 'text' and the text screen appears
    4. The 'To' field will change to the last person you texted

If you have any previous texts it will not happen.
