So this just started happening literally overnight and only on my iPad. Normally, in Safari, if I begin to type a word or phrase I want to search for I just type the first few letters or word, pick what I'm looking for from suggested searches and then I have the option of tapping in the search field and adding more or making changes to that search. It no longer does that. When I click up there it only has the first few letters that I started out with.

My search: List of President of the Uni..
*I then pick List of Presidents of the United States out of the suggested search drop down
Next time I tap in the field I can add whatever to List of Presidents of the United States

This general process works on my Mac and iPhone but not on my M4 iPad Pro. I also tried it on my wifes iPad Pro(M2) and yea, it's not working either.

After hours of troubleshooting I was able to curiously find out that if I use Pencil scribble to start a search...well then it works just fine. The on-screen keyboard or Siri? Broken.

Sorry if that makes no sense but it's driving me insane. 90 mins with Apple and they eventually just blamed google and called it a day. Not sure the logic there.

Thank you.

Nobody? I made a video to show what I am talking about.

If I A) use my pencil to scribble in whatever I'm searching for, it works just fine
B) if I put two safari windows side by side they work as they should.

This has completely ruined my workflow and the iPad is basically unusable. I have tried everything from removing the pencil, switching search engines, toggling on and off every single option I can find. I did nothing and made no changes. It worked on Friday, didn't work on Saturday.

I refuse to factory reset the iPad. I'm tired of that being their go to answer.

Mine only give suggestions if I use normal tabs aka non private tabs. If problem persist, I think you should change browsers eg Brave, DuckDuckGo, Ghostery, SnowHaze etc.
