I love this forum when talking about Apple stuff, but my mom's wanting to upgrade her computer and when I last had to mess with PC components it was choosing between the new AMD Athlon CPU or an Intel Pentium.

Can anyone point me in a direction where I can get some advice on this stuff? I'd love her to switch to a Mac but right now she doesn't want to have anything to do with an iPhone or a Mac.

Tom's hardware has some pretty good forum, or Ars Technica.

Though I'm not one of them, there are many members here that are not exclusively Mac users. Hopefully, you will get some good feedback from those members.

You are pretty safe to ask around here. I have my own niche communities for other computer interests but goodness they are niche compared to even MacRumors.

Thanks. I was hoping there was a forum here to post stuff about PCs but couldn't find one. Maybe I missed it. Something like how there's the ones about PowerPC Macs and Mac Collectibles.

Just didn't want to stray too far from the main topic here.

Dslreports has excellent and informative community, its smaller than tom's hardware or neowin and the likes but the community is pretty down to earth and willing to help.
