Im looking for storage solutions for the nMP Ive ordered (6 cores, 512ssd, D700).
I currently have a 2011 iMac (500GB), a 1TB G-Tech external FW800 and a 2TB 4th generation TimeCapsule for TimeMachine. I also have a PC with 2 x 1TB (WD black) and a 3TB (WD green).
When the MacPro comes in, one of the other computers will have to go. Not sure which one at this point. I do some occasional gaming (Skyrim, Borderlands, WoW) no first person shooters though. The MacPro will mostly be used for my hobby (LightRoom and Photoshop) and development (web, java, Obj-C).
I would prefer getting rid of the PC because its in a huge CaseLabs TH-10 case, watercooled with 2 quad radiators that Ive built 2 years ago. If I keep it, Ill have to redo the tubing and probably get new pumps. And, well, the thing is so freaking big Dont know what I was thinking a that time
I need at least 1 drive for BootCamp, and a couple for storage. I was thinking about getting a Promise Pegasus2 diskless R4 but Im not sure if I can install BootCamp on one of the drive. Ive read threads here on MacRumors and it seems like installing BootCamp with the nMP is not an easy task. I could instead use 1 thunderbolt external drive for BootCamp and another one (USB 3 or Thunderbolt) for storage and rely on my TimeCapsule for backup but since its only 2TB, Ill run out of space pretty quick
Any suggestions?
