My mom has my old Core 2 Duo iMac that is about 7-8 years old and it is finally dying.

She just uses it for email and we do stuff like buy plane tickets and print recipes when I come over.

Any suggestions please on what to buy her and where to buy it? I could buy any old iMac off eBay but I would prefer something that is sold by an reputable reseller as versus someone's random used computer.

Any thought on this, please?

Thanks.

I strongly suggest buying from Apple's Refurb Store: the link can be found by scrolling to the bottom of the Apple home page.

The models are 'as new' but without the full retail price. The only discernible difference is the plain white box in which their goods are supplied in. You get the full warranty as if you were buying new, which can be extended if you so wish.

Thanks for the suggestion but I was looking for an older, significantly less expensive model.
