Hey all, I'm filling out a job application for Border's as I write this.

Any other ideas, in case Border's doesn't work out?

supermarkets like some one said about. They have a very high turn over rate so it not to hard to get a job with them. The camp counselor I would say would be one of the best ones because it a more laid back job and if you like outdoors and sports even better.

In HS I would at a supermarket. Now in college my current job is being an Engineering Mentor which I enjoy and I work with some jr high kids a few hours during the week and honestly I enjoy it quite a bit (mostly I get paid to pay with legos)

I was interviewing a guy for a coop intern position with my company and the guy didn't really know anything. He did nothing but school, had no jobs during highschool, not even during summer. To me it was like he was to good to do hard work to me. So, I passed on him.

not trying to insult you, but i know quite a few parents that don't let their children get jobs at all, even during the summer (at least paying ones), so that could be slightly unfair to those folks that have parents that don't want them working to focus on studies.

but volunteer work helps, as i was doing a bunch of outside school activities all summer.

Landscaping is definitely seasonal work. Caddying (especially at a private course) pays great money.

I often see my former students (now in high school) bagging groceries or pumping gas. Those seem to be the big jobs for young guys in my neck of the woods.

Good luck with Borders though– that would be a good job!

Thanks. I hope I do get the job, it's probably the closest to an Apple store I'll get :D (it's in the same mall as my local Apple Store)
