so...

how much of that music did you obtain through legal means? many of your artists, songs, and albums are incorrect or listed differently than how the iTunes music database recognizes them...

Its not that SOME of them MAY BE illegal. It just so happens I have the same order of 1's and 0's on my computers hard drive that is quite similar to the songs.

Actutally most of those are legal. The ones with out the album name are not. However, I do have a beach boy's cd with that song on it :).

I don't see anyone complaining about killuminati's illegal music. :)

I can't really remember exactly what type of music I liked when I was 15, but my little sis is about that age. What you've got seems pretty representative of what she listens to. I'd add a little Franz Ferdinand though and maybe a little Guster. Out of the music on my iPod those seem to be her favorites... and personally, I wouldn't want to be at a pool party without some Bob Marley, but its only recently that i've become fanatical about reggae.

Good luck... hope its an awesome party.

Good Idea! Thanks.

You're auditing his iTunes tracks against how the iTunes database recognizes them?

Oh my...that's just crazy. You need some new hobbies.

Because it's rap so nobody cares :p

But actually, it's all legal except for 3 songs. :)

it didnt take an audit, it took half a brain

as for killuminati's music, i don't listen to that stuff, so know nothing about it.

I really don't think you should be judging whether peoples music is legit or not through the names and artist.

Also I just googled "Guns and Roses Every Rose has a Thorn" and a bunch of lyrics came up for a song called that by that artist. I don't listen to that music so I don't know if it's right or not but yea....I don't know where I'm going with this.

I'm not able to see the image he posted - I just see two red 'X's in that post - So I don't know what songs CompUser listed. That is a poison song if I recall correctly.

But my point was that this thread is about picking a good mix for a summer party. I was enjoying reading everyone's different tastes in music based on their recommendations. Did we really need to the MP3 Police to come out and break up the party?

why not go for some silly 70's music mixed with current hits and a bit of reggae? Girls love it and most everyone can (secretly ) relate to some of the songs...

"you're the one that I want , woohoohoooooooooooo'

Perhaps for 70's & 80's- The BeeGees and Jefferson Starship, my 11 versions of total eclipse of the heart, a bit of meatloaf, Bette Midler, some more Bonnie Tyler.

Cruel Summer by Bananarama, Kara Chameleon, My Sharona.

:)

At one of my friends pool parties like 5 years ago, they just got outdoor speakers and the only CD's they had were motown songs. It was really lame. I also went to a new years party once where they had 1 CD on repeat. So from 6:00pm to 1:00am it was the same 12 songs over and over again. Including Prince's Party like it's 1999, Our House by Madness, and Rock the Casbah.

Just asking a question, chill out kiddo. I'm also still enjoying reading the different recommendations.

Besides... if he's serious about playing "Total Eclipse of the Heart", Bette Midler and Jefferson Starship, he'll break up the party just fine by himself ;) :D

I dont know how much this'll help, but I recently put a couple of playlists together. One is for when I want to rock out, the the other is for when I'm feelin chill.

BTW, The knockout kings are going to be huge in 2 years.
