    ummm...

So just saw an app in installer called "Summerboard 1.1.3 Fix" saying its from David "ipodtouchmaster" in the desc.

Given I have had so many problems with trying to get Summerboard to run on my 1.1.3 JB iTouch, I install it. Why not.

    Nothing changed.

Except for the fact now nothing will download thru installer.

    ooookay.

Apparently for those with PC's can SSH into your iTouch and get Summerboard to show ur themes and actually work. There is a video on youtube from ipodtouchguru or smth, i just saw it.

but iono how to do it for macs.... terminal? iono how.

So if you know how to get this summerboard to work, pls let me know.

If you also know how to get customize to work, please let me know.

Its amazing how much I put myself thru just to have those wiggly feature and the gmaps with locator.... i keep thinking 1.1.2 was so much better....

Mac's can SSH via terminal. Type:

    ssh root@192.168.1.1

(Replace 192.168.1.1 with the IP address of the iPod)

Type in the ssh password when prompted (default is alpine I think)

    oooh thanks!

I actually did it thru Cyberduck as well. Finally learned how to SSH.

Now I know where my Summerboard themes went.

Still cant get Customize to run tho... any ideas?

It just showed up in my installer when I refreshed sources.
I just have the community sources pack... try refreshing it.

    But it doesnt work anyways.

You got to SSH into your iTouch to move the themes yourself.

While you're in SSH, might as well download some .puz files for more iCrossword puzzles!!

download cyber duck. just google it.

once you get it, open a new SSH connection, user name is "root" and password is "alpine" and add in your IP address for your ipod, which can be found under settings/network/(find ur WiFi server and click it) and there shud be your IP addy. Keep the port as 22.

    ConnecT!

Then you have just SSH into your ipod. You can now drag files in and out as you please.

    to get Summerboard working...
download themes. it doesnt show up, rite?
    thats ok.
SSH into your ipod, then go into the var/root/library/summerboard/themes and you will see your theme files you downloaded there.
Now, find the other file under var/mobile/library/summerboard/themes.

DRAG the themes from the first one to the second one.

    VWALA! it shud work now.

    ps.
if you find where the damn wallpapers file is, pls let me know. i cant find it.
