Summerboard 3.0 missing on Installer?

I updated my 1.1.1 jailbroken phone to 1.1.2 and it obviously wiped out all the programs I had in there which was fine but when I went to download Summerboard it's not in the list. I downloaded the Community Services to be sure I had the full list of programs available and it seems exactly like what was there before but the only Summerboard showing up is the "Summerboard (old)" with no trace of the new. I refreshed, I restarted, I installed BSD Subsystem but no new Summerboard. I tried installing the old version since some posts indicated it worked on 1.1.2 but it installs and then says it won't work and needs firmware 1.1.x which makes no sense.

Is the new version of Summerboard not available via Installer (v 3.0b8)? I installed "Customize" so I could at least get apps to flow to the second screen but I liked the "themes" of Summerboard.

Otherwise my phone seems successfully and happily jailbroken on 1.1.2. Are there any ideas of what I'm missing? Was it taken offline for some reason? Any help is appreciated.

Well the main reason it was taken down, is because although it worked perfectly for some, it also sent some phones into a frozen apple screen, so I would just look around for some places to download Summerboard versions of around 3.0, or another source to install the stuff...

I've got the same problem. It was in the installer earlier today but not as of an hour or two ago. What a shame.

Anyone have any idea as to whether or not SummerBoard is offered on any other source as opposed to having to install manually? I've tried Customize and iSwitcher and I feel SB is a far nicer utility for themes.

But the problem with manually installing Summerboard now is that Summerboard has a lot of files in many places in your phone, so just installing the app in the app folder wouldnt work, you will need another source until a new, stable version is released...

Right, I figured that I would inevitably have to sit and wait for them to release another update. It's just too bad they don't at least offer it to the people who aren't having any of the issues that seem to be occuring.

On my iPod 1.1.2 it was working perfectly fine as far as I experienced

Okay, I'm not crazy - it's not there. I'm happier at least knowing that there were issues and it was pulled to address them. I actually updated to 1.1.2 because I'd stacked so many programs on there that I didn't know what, exactly, was making my iPhone unstable but it was just crashing left and right. Sadly, though, I can't imagine not having a jailbroken phone - the phone is useless in the subway unless it's broken and you can play games on it since there's no internet much less phone service.

Thanks for the responses - I guess I'll be patient.

At first I also thought it was taken down, only it's still in the repository list if you look at it. Simply download the list from the source directly (http://repository.apptapp.com), for example doing this to fool the server:

    wget -U "iPod" http://repository.apptapp.com

    Those lines are present:

And the date is correct (16th December). But on the other hand it's not copied to the Installer RemotePackages.plist, for some reason... probably a bug in the Installer (it's about time they update this one! ;)).

If I find an easy way to get around this I'll let you know, unless someone else already has an idea.

Do you still have the directory /Applications/SMBPrefs.app on your iPhone?

You can use the Mobile Finder to find out, or log in with WinSCP/CyberDuck. If it is still there, verify that the application has the correct permission flags (execute). You can also launch it from the Finder to test if the update was fine.

Thanks so much. It installed fine and seems to play well with "Customize" and it also seems to have remembered all the themes that I'd installed previously so it's nice to back where I was but on 1.1.2.

    yo,

ran it from the finder, and terminal says it cannot exectue binary file. I assume i need to reinstall it?

IF i save my p.list file, and reimport it, will this save me having to set my phone up the way i like again, or will that be just importing the bug again?
Im not sure if the update cause the plist file to corrupt or if its the actual .app thats buggered..

    thanks for your help..
