sports heaven

Does anybody have an idea as to where I can find a copy of the 60 second Sports Heaven ad? I can find it streaming on the ESPN site, but nowhere is it available for download. It would make my morning-commute playlist if I had it...

I do not have the money to buy a $200 phone and $65/month for for 450min service, but that was the first time in a long time I can recall an ad making me think "Whoa.....man...I gotta get that....so....awesome......" as I drool all over myself.

I liked the "magic fridge" video too, but for my money the best one was the "rooftop" commercial, where the two guys are up on top of their houses, ostensibly fixing things but really relaxing with beers and lawn chairs. It's hilarious when the third guy, who really is fixing his roof, falls through it, but the capper is when you see him dazed in on the living room floor...and this huge toolbox falls on his head. :p I love it when they take a great sight gag and top it off with an even better one.

I agree, the Burger King ad was incredibly lame, in the category of, "What were they thinking?"

I'm surprised no one mentioned the American Century (I think that was the company, at least) commercial, the woman getting up on the airline and falling on the guy, with his eye shades dropped down in his mouth to make it look like S&M... that was absolutely the best.

The worst - hands down - was the Hummer commercial. Disgusting & disturbing, and not in a good way.

For cuteness, I liked the Streaker (Budweiser) and Kermit (Ford Hybrid) commercials.

nbs2, I worked on that ad and will look into where someone outside of ESPN would get it. I of course have a copy but need to check before I can release a version. Now that it has aired this may have loosened up a bit.

I will say it is a beauty of a phone especially for a diehard sports fan (unlike myself). It does just about everything that ESPN.com does and probably more. They really designed the gui very nice.

That's right! I remember the other thread with some of the other artwork that you did. That was cool, but if I remember right you said you did some of the simulated screenshots of the phone right? That was amazing. At teh risk of sounding silly, I wonder how you will ever be able to top that. I really thought the red and black interface wasn't going to work, but wow....I really think that they have taken mobile phones to the next level. But for the new iPod that can no longer be returned, I would have been at Best Buy first thing this morning to get one.

Ok, deep breaths....in...out...in...out....:D

All these replies and no mention of Sprint's "Crime Prevention" cellular phone features? For my money that was the best commercial I saw (to be fair I missed most of the first quarter and was not paying close attention).

I also liked one near the end where the older guy reminisces about getting scores the old fashioned way "on the internet."

I liked all of the Anheuser-Busch ads...And one I didn't see listed in that google collection which was the Mastercard one with Richard Dean Anderson, I thought that was amusing

I think special mention should be given specifically for the "streaking sheep" ad.

The FedEx ad definitely was funny, liked the Sprint "Crime deterrent" ad, didn't care for the Hummer commercial or Pepsi commercials, and was about to shoot myself after seeing a dozen Blockbuster ads during the pre-game show.

Overall, a few laughs, but definitely disappointed in the ad quality.

On Google I don't see the one that was a stand out for me.

It featured two doctors above a sleeping patient. The one doctor uses the paddles to zap a fly, then with the paddles still in his hand leans down on the patient, looks at the fly and says "yep, he's dead" or something similar just as the family walks in, and the young daughter lets go her balloon.

Too funny.

Well after watching the ones I hadn't seen on google, the best ad has to go to 'United Airlines - Dragon". It was just really, really good.

Bud Light's "On the Roof" wins best beer ad. The rest were pretty garbage.

I was mostly underwhelmed this year, though I did like the Streaking Sheep, Addicted to Lost, the "Brokeback Monsters" H3 Ad, the little clydesdale, and the ESPN mobile ad (nice work, freeny)...that was the only ad I saw and said "I gotta get me one of those" - then I saw the price. I think I'll be keeping my old phone a while longer.

even though i know they are just copying terry tate, i still get a kick out of random tackles and other physical comedy ads.. guess when they find what works they may as well milk it.

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. As Im sure you all know my part was a very tiny piece of the puzzle and the props are being passed along to the multitude of people who worked on the project. I will agree that the phone is pri$y and cant see paying the money they are asking. Im not really the target market anyway, for this is for die hard fans and admittingly well worth the cost for someone who "lives" sports. Ironically I do get a free all expences paid phone that I use for "R&D".

My previous work was all with television and Im adjusting to the new 320x240 screen of the phone (Ive only been working on the mobile for 6 months). It was a treat to be able to work for a full screen as well as see my labours on the tv again.

Thanks again.

The Best:

1. Both of Ameritrade's ads-

(The guy zaps the fly with the defibrelator, The lady crawling over the guy's lap on the plane)

This is the same company that did the best one from last year. (The guy in the kitchen cooking dinner, spills tomato sauce, and girlfriend walks in to see him holding a knife in one hand and a blood-red sauce covered cat in the other.)

2. Sprint's theft deterrent phone.

The Worst:

1. Hummer- yes it IS a monster

2. McDonalds- Hampster

3. Ford - Kermit/Hybrid SUV.

Edit - holy crap I forgot about the horrendous Pepsi commercials. Definitely the worst.
