We made it! Less then 24 hrs until millions of us get the device we’ve been craving for YEARS. The excitement in these forums is awesome. I find myself constantly ready thread after thread on so many different topics and discussions. And as we get closer to launch the crazier and more absurd the posts/threads get. Tracking flights, tracking down planes, obsessively checking and refreshing order pages to see if dates changed. Comparing order times down to the minute, transcripts of calls to Apple, bashing carriers because of order processing fails, etc. The list goes on and on. And I love it. THIS is what makes big iPhone launches fun. All this craziness leading up to the launch is the best part of the whole process. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t wait until tomorrow. But I can’t help but feel a little depressed that all this will go away in a few hours and we’ll all be back to normal. I’m gonna miss it. Sure there will be a ton to talk about after tomorrow. But it’s not really the same. We’ll have a few years to wait until this happens again. Every launch is fun, but the original, the 4, the 6 and the X were really special. So maybe 3-4 years. So until then, I’ll see all u “normal” people around the forums posting nice logical thoughts. But I’m already looking forward to all u psychos coming back in full force for the next big iPhone launch.

I'm pumped. This is the first time I have ever pre ordered an Iphone. Unfortunately by the time I get home from work and get it all setup it will be around 8pm. It's going to to be a long day of anticipation.

Yup, we reached the end once again. Always a distracting week. Will be the 4th next year hopefully for me

Yup. Another four years for a new design but another ten years to celebrate another anniversary iPhone.

Four-year design cycle like Olympics and high school.

Real big anniversary celebrations will be after each decade with the exception being 1, 5, 25, maybe 75.

Yup. The anticipation of something always causes more brain activity and excitement than the actual acquisition. It's funny how that is. Soon this phone will just be something we take for granted.

Very soon. Within a week or 2 and it’s just another phone and we will be looking for rumors about the next one.

You forget that supply is tight on the first iPhone with an entirely fresh design in years. So when we upgraded from the 6, to the 6s, to the 7, to the 8...they were all indistinguishable from each other. This phone will get noticed. It'll be a conversation starter. The honeymoon period, while still finite, will last for weeks as people will want to look at your phone and ask you questions about it. This hasn't been something we've had in a while.

No hype for me this year :( love my 8+ though.

+ the fun is about to begin. You’ll have the people with the yellow screens, the ones with screen burn in, the ones that have a tiny nick on the stainless steel, I think that’s better than the pre order hype :p

I used to think this was the **** back in high school but the “oh can I hold it” “unlock it for me! Unlock it for me! “Omg it like uses your face, close your eyes and unlock it” “omg the notch is actually a notch” “omg can I take a portrait selfie and animoji? *grabs 1k phone*”

Is gonna get tiring after the first onlooker. After the first day I used to try to hide my phone every time I used it :p

It's kinda like Christmas as a kid. The build up and hype happens throughout the year. Then the night before Christmas, the excitement reaches a fever pitch and it's hard to sleep. Next day is Christmas and you get all your gifts and you're having hanging out with family and just having such a memorable time. Then all of sudden, the day is over and everything goes back to normal :(

I enjoy the madness during this time too. Tomorrow will be a really long day for me because I’m west coast time and my ups guy comes at the end of the day. I’ll be listening for the truck just in case but yeah I’ll watch most of the rest of the launch day peeps get theirs first. LOL still a fun day. I still have to be sure I know what order to do things in, backup and then unpair watch (I think?) and setup X and pair watch again.. hope I do it all ok!
Here’s wishing you all a safe fast delivery!

That's why a launch like the iPhone X is special...

I'm just happy to be fortunate enough not to be reading these posts with 'jealousy' ;)

I'm already bored with it, and I don't have it yet. I REALLY had fun with the preorder challenge.

Now THAT was something :D

I don't know about anyone else, but I would add the 5c launch to that list. Say what you will about the phone but it was a radical redesign to me. I went from the 4 (which is still the iPhone that made the iPhone what it is, in my mind) to the 5c and absolutely loved that phone. It was the only iPhone I ever used without a case, because it didn't need it. It was a case. It took a beating. And it cost me $99! I brought home two - one for my wife on launch day. I had the white one. And funny enough, I think the silver iPhone X kind of resembles that look. Can't wait for tomorrow!

I try to explain to my non-techie friends, but they don’t get why I get so excited, immerse myself in the minutae, and read and watch all the things, even when they’re essentially repeats.

But then some of them are comic book nerds or theater nerds, and a handful just got their San Diego ComicCon tickets, so they get the general feeling, at least. :)

I am giving up on the idea that my card will be charged and my phone will ship/arrive within the next day, haha. I mostly just read posts here, but I have done so every year and look forward to the excitement it brings. I'm kinda bummed that this year my phone isn't part of the first wave, but it'll get here. I hope you all have fun tomorrow!
