Don't buy it until you have the phone. This game is the biggest scam ever released on the App Store and if it were any other indie App it would be rejected for violated App Store rules. This game gets around all of the normal allowances of the App Store (where you can buy an App and redownload it anywhere, or unlock content via In-App purchase and restore it later on the same or other device). They've found a way to make you re-buy the same game on EVERY device (unprecedented!) and Apple somehow allows it.
Really? I didn't buy it since 10 bucks seemed a little high for something I only liked a little bit. But for 5 I'm down. That being said if I can't play it on my iPad and my iPhone for one payment I'm not sold.

I'll have to double check on my iPad tonight, but I think he's wrong.

I’m trying very hard to give nintendo my money but I keep getting forced to do toads rally whatever that is.

I have it on 4 devices in my household and only paid for it once.
You can have it 100 devices, but you can't play it on all of them. It will give you an error if you try to play when it is open on another device.

Not sure if it’s just me but I don’t see the update in the App Store and when I tap on MARIO Run it tells me I need to update it and takes me to the App Store but it only says “open.” Won’t let me update the game for some reason

I have it on my iPhone and my iPad — certainly didn’t buy it twice.

Try creating a second Nintendo account. Use the "restore purchases" option after creating the new account.

It's not letting you use the same account in two places at the same time to prevent cloud sync issues.

Same here. Never had this issue before.

EDIT: Have to update to iOS 11.0.1 for Mario Run 3.0.4 update to appear in App Store.

Try Goblin Sword. That game is a phenomenal platformer.

I've been playing that this week too. It really is great, especially with a controller. Feels like proper old-school platform games used to feel in their heyday. And such amazing value.

I'd love to support Nintendo releasing games on iOS but not when they assume all their paying customers are potential pirates. Goblin Sword is wonderful, go buy that instead people! ...Or even as well as Super Mario Run if you don't have the issue with what Nintendo did with SMR that I do ;)

So, yes, I can buy it via itunes?[/
Two things:
#1 - It's always struck me as a bit odd that Princess Daisy isn't a Disney character, but a Nintendo character, while Disney also has a Daisy, Daisy Duck.

It’s always struck me as odd that Mario isn’t a tv host, but a Italian cartoon pizza man, while tv also has a Mario, Mario Lopez.

Actually, it’s a bit odd that u even made that comparison.

Super Mario Run's "biggest update ever" has arrived one day early, with many players noticing the version 3.0.4 update is available to download as of this morning. One of the biggest new additions is "Remix 10," which lets players run through 10 super-short courses in a row to try to find and add Daisy -- the new playable character -- to their roster.

There's also new full-size courses in the game, inhabiting "World Star," including a forest, a ship, and an airship armada. New customization items can be earned from playing Remix 10, and the game has been tweaked so that Toad Rally won't pit you against players whose Toad population is "significantly different" from your own.

Nintendo has also added a subtle visual detail, giving Mario and his playable friends a pair of headphones any time you listen to your own music while playing the game. With the new update, Super Mario Run [Direct Link] is 50 percent off its full price of $9.99 from today until October 12, meaning you can unlock all six worlds for $4.99.

The game is still free-to-start and lets you play the first world for free, with the in-app purchase unlocking the rest of the game's content. The app keeps on crashing for me at startup! Any help? I’m on iOS 11.01 iPhone 7+

This internet requirement is total ********. Jailbreaking was popular in 2010 when vanilla iOS lacked many features (like copy/paste). I don't know a single person nowadays that jailbreaks their device.

I have loved Mario games all my life, owned all Nintendo's machines. I love the simplicity of Mario games, reminds me of Apple.
So I waited in a queue and decided to give this game a try.

1) Game Center screen
2) terms of service screen
3) language choosing screen
4) tutorial screen
5) agreement to privacy policy
6) choose a nickname
7) downloads additional data
8) push notification custom screen
9) Toad talking about something
10) world map, don't really know where I should click to play
11) clicked on rally, new screen talking about "rally tickets"

I finished the queue before even getting a chance to play!
Who the **** designed this game? I just want to jump on some Goombas!

I'm actually surprised that this update was so good. At first when I skimmed the article about it, I thought the Star World was just 9 tacked on levels to finish and be done with. I'm pleasantly surprised at the challenges required to unlock them. Because it really changes how you play the 9 levels that you have to backtrack to. I'm not sure about Remix, but I dig the song for those levels.

Great analysis I think you'll enjoy reading.

This was what was missing in the original release. Once you play through about half the game, you come to realize what an incredible control system Nintendo was able to design around just one button. So much can be done with timing, tap length and combinations. Unlike an endless runner, you do feel in full control.

But by the time you get a handle on the control system, the game is over. It was simply too short. The Star World adds enough to the game to make it feel complete. Remix is a bonus.

I'm happy with my $9.99 purchase. I can't wait for Nintendo to extend this concept and this control system to other side scroller games like Donkey Kong.
