Love the TRUE black of the OLED so been using black theme Lock and Home Screens. Found a neat set that just has a color outline bar around the edges (VERY iPhone X/OLED cool). They come in several colors and even two with a colored background LINK.

Odd problem. Lets say I want to use red for lock and green for Home. Which ever one I select last goes to both. Using these I can't get a different Wallpaper selected for Lock and Home. Oddly if I use one of the 2 with a colored background (or any other pic) I have no problem (been using different Home and Lock screens since iOS 2????). Can anyone else confirm, replicate or better yet explain this behavior or what is happening. Example pics below:

Pic 1: Home with Granulated color bar
Pic 2: Choose red bar as Lock
Pic 3: Home changes to red too

I’m using home screen wallpaper from that site. There’s a note on the site:

“You can not make Lock Screen and Home Screen a different color only the frame. It is not possible to make Lock Screen black and make Home Screen black and frame only. On iOS, if you set similar images on both, Home Screen wallpaper may be hijacked by Lock Screen.”

That is just weird. So if iOS sees the Home and Lock screen as about the same it just drops one and makes them the same? That is just some strange behavior. So you see the same thing if you try and make them different?

Another oddity I have noticed using the black with colored outline wallpapers. When my Home screen comes up it takes about 500ms before the Wallpaper displays. It is like it is loading each time. Wonder why these wallpapers seem and are treated so differently? Can anyone confirm or comment on using them?

Had the exact issue with wallpaper seeming like it takes a bit to load.

It’s the fade-in effect, but since it’s virtually all black, you don’t see the fade until it reaches the edges.
There is no fade in effect using any other wallpaper. Only out of focus to in focus effect but the screen edges stay visible with no fade. So why do these wallpapers fade in and out?

EDIT: Think I figured it out. After looking carefully it looks like as the Home Screen Wallpaper goes out of focus it expands the wallpaper picture a small amount (a few pixels all the way around). So when it comes back into focus it must shrink down a few pixels and it takes 500ms or so for the outline to be displayed.

When swiping from the lock screen to the home screen on my X, the blue outline seems to be already in place. It only seems to “fade in” when swiping out of an open app back to the home screen. When tapping the screen to close a folder, the “fade in” seems to happen more quickly.

YEA. that is what I see also. Which seems to reinforce my theory as to why. When you swipe from the Lock screen the wallpaper is already in focus and only the Folder/App icons are in motion.
