I work at a sober living, and an ex client had a 13" MBP. One night we got back to the house and the screen had been damaged. Another tech decided they could fix the monitor and suffice to say, he ended up ruining the computer. I inherited it after we bought the client a new MB and I recently (within 24 hours) did a clean install of Mountain Lion. The computer is horribly slow, and kernel_task is taking up 350% of the CPU. There are no 3rd party programs installed as it is a clean install. Can anyone explain why this is happening? I have always been a PC enthusiast but I was kind of excited to have a MBP for the cost of a new display assembly, but things never seem to work out like you'd expect. So any tips or hints?
