I am a school teacher and i print a lot of stuff from my macbook pro 2015 retina, running latest mojave. I have a printer with airprint at home so no USB there. But at both schools i teach in, i print stuff daily via USB from macbook to printer. everytime i print PDFs via USB on these printers (different models and brands), theres a pause of sometimes 10 seconds between each page for some reason and printer status says (sending data to printer). Its just a few megabytes how can it take so long? it ends up taking several minutes sometimes printing a small several page document. I really wish i could figure out how to fix this. Is it a mac thing? is it a USB thing? is it a pdf size over slow USB thing? none of my computers at home are connected via USB to my printer, all on network so i cant try it with my printer. Anyone have any ideas?
