super slow startups

Hey all,

Lately i've been experiencing really really really slow start ups in os x 10.4.8 I know in windows you can go 2 start>run>msconfig and choose what apps you want to run at start up. Is there anythig i can do to optimize my startup times?!

How much RAM do you have?

Do you have any applications running at login?

The first startup after this is run will take a long time, but after that the start ups should be noticeably faster.
