As title says… notebook is reading and accepting that the Superdrive is there, but when a disc is inserted, it spins for 15-30 seconds and ejects.

Ive searched around, but no conclusive answers found. Help? Tnx

Would be useful to have more info -- mbp age, type of discs rejecting, etc. I have a similar issue with Netflix DVDs and blank DVDs but not from old DVDs and CDs.

I brought it to the Apple store and the genius was able to fix it by blowing compressed air into the slot. You can try that. Otherwise you may need to get a new drive.

Good luck.

So no thanks to anyone one here, but I thought Id post the solution on here for others incase.

It was a simple matter of cleaning the lens with a disc cleaner (disc that has micro brushes on bottom). It ejected it after 15 seconds, but that little time was enough to clean the lens, and I have already successfully burnt 1 dvd.
