Just a minute ago, I had a pull tab from a can of soda wedged into the opening of my Superdrive. When I tried to get it out, the tab fell into the Superdrive and now I cannot read CDs or DVDs. Is there any way I can get the tab out so I can read discs again? Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Late 2011 13" MacBook Pro.

Thank You! :apple:

The first thing you can try is turning the MBP off, gently lifting it up and VERY gently make a shaking movement and see if the pull tab can be worked out.

There are several videos online that will show you how to take apart your MBP and remove the optical drive. Once you have the optical drive out, there are a few screws that can be undone allowing you to open the drive and remove the pull tab.

If you aren't confident of your skills, take the machine to an Apple Authorised Repairer and have them remove it for you. With luck the pull tab will not have caused any damage to the optical drive.
