So I wanted to burn a few CDs today, only to find that the Superdrive isn't really doing CD-Rs. I've tried three brands--Staples, Memorex, and Sony. Frankly, it kind of pisses me off--I've already spent too much money just trying to find a brand of CD-Rs that'll work in the Superdrive.

So what's next--do I try a different brand? Send it to Apple? Something I've missed?

Thanks,
John

What kind of Superdrive? What kind of Mac?

What exactly does 'isn't really doing' mean? What happens when you insert one or try to burn with it?

Sorry about that. It's a MacBook Pro, purchased 3/2006 (so, single layer). It refuses to mount a blank CD on the desktop and does not allow me to write to it. It takes it, makes some noises like it would try to read it, and spits it back out at me.

It reads regular CDs and blank DVDs just fine, however.
