I, like many others from what I have read, have a faulty superdrive (doesn't read any media, just spins and ejects). My plan is to replace myself. I have a Matshita superdrive UJ-857E. Most of the superdrives I find for sale online are model number UJ-857C. Are these superdrives interchangeable? Thanks.

As a side note, even if the models are different, drives that are the same interface (and obviously size) should work fine.

No longer under AppleCare, that is why I plan on doing myself. I thought they would be the same, just wanted to double-check. Thanks for the help.
