Is SuperDuper ok with backing up to alternating disks? I was planning to use two firewire disks and alternate them (that way one always has a safe backup (albeit older) to rely on if for example the backup itself screws up).

I can't think of any problems with this provided SD doesn't keep something clever in its logs (like date of last backup) then use it for decisions about what/how to copy (I presume it derives all needed info from dates on the actual files - that would be much more sensible).

    Anyone know for sure ?

I think you should be fine because SuperDuper doesn't really copy over a file index (as far as I'm aware) of when it last backed up and such. It should just scan your Firewire drive and make any changes to the existing files on it to match your computer. So whenever you plug any drive in, it will simply examine the drive and make the updated changes to it. Test and see for sure, but I don't see why that wouldn't work.
