[SuperDuper] Ghost partition question

I am currently using 10.4.7 on a MacBook Core Duo.

I want to backup my entire system with SuperDuper before I upgrade to 10.4.9.

I have a Western Digital Passport 120 GB USB drive with about 90 GB free.

My entire system is less than 25 GB.

I want to know if I need to create a separate partition on the external drive for my ghost partition to work or will it create some kind of folder that I can use.

Also, ghosting restores my system exactly like it was before, yes? Any issues with my software such as Adobe CS2 I should know about?
