Quick question hopefully,

My Mother is taking on an old macbook of my sisters, in place of her ibook, but wants to have everything off onto it before she uses.

Could i take the harddrive out the macbook, use superduper to copy the exisiting ibook hard drive to the macbook hard drive and pop back into the macbook, hit the power on button and it will boot as the ibook would into the same position?

I just switched to a larger 250/7200 HD in my Macbook. Used Carbon Copy
instead of Superduper, but they are both good. Should work fine.

Reset pram on both and run permissions repair beforehand. Also, good time
to remove all the junk you might not want to copy.

No, you can't use a PPC clone on a MacBook. Your best bet is to use Migration Assistant to get accounts copied across. Then look for Universal or Intel-only versions of the apps on the iBook. Since it's an old MacBook, you have various options, including target disk mode over firewire, to connect the two together.
