Saw it last night during Smallville...there just aint enough footage in those teasers :( Always leave me wanting more.

Still made me happy nonetheless! :D

I also saw it last night during "Smallville". Like Deefuzz, I was hoping for a little more, but I'll take what I can get. A couple of quick observations:
  • Sounds like they're using at least some of the music from the previous Superman movies (starring Christopher Reeve). Good.
  • I saw at least one reference to "Spider-Man" (the movie) in this trailer: When I saw Clark take a flying leap over a field, it instantly brought to my mind the scenes of Peter Parker and his flying leaps from rooftop to rooftop after he discovers his new powers. It's especially funny to me because there's a scene in "Spider-Man" where Peter Parker is running and rips open his shirt to reveal the Spider-Man costume underneath -- which was an obvious reference to the old "Superman" movies.
  • Picked up on some overt Christian symbolism in Jor-El's speech towards the end of the trailer ("They only lack the light to show the way... I have sent them you, my only son.") I really hope that Bryan Singer's not pushing the movie in that direction too much.
Can't wait until next summer. ;)

I saw it before Harry Potter. The trailer looked good, too short though.
I agree... just now my bf asked me to look up some more info about it on the web. Feeling a bit lazy though. :D

When I was about 15 or so, I absolutely adored the first Richard Donner Superman film.

If they can capture that sense of gravitas and not make it too cornbally like the later Richard Lester efforts, I'll be pleased. And if they can also get good charismatic performances from the principals, I'll also be happy.

Margot Kidder was great as Lois. Christopher Reeve made the role his own.

I've read that Bryan Singer is a big admirer of that first film, so fingers crossed.

I'm really looking forward to seeing it actually. I actually want it to be different from the first bout of films, not by much but i think it needs a different perspective and a little extra oomph

Odd. Don't they usually upgrade the superhero outfits when they redo these things? Even Spiderman's looked slightly modernized. Too dark to see if they got rid of his lame red booties.

You can always tell the good guys by the underwear on the outside of their tights.

I will only watch the movie if it also features Grapemouthgirl :) .

J/K Baked!

I agree with what you are posting though! I want to see it if it has a unique to add to the story, or something!

Their filming part of this in newcastle next week, shutting down most of the inner city, good thing i don't go their anyway.

I would go and see it but i am at a conferance for the first 4 days of next week :(

I saw them filming in Sydney around 2-3 weeks ago. I won't say whether I have a photo of the set or not ( ;) ), but regardless, what I saw wasn't even the complete set. I saw them set up at around 7pm, and they were gonna film at 4 am.
