Does anyone know if SuperTab is still being developed?

I have reached out to the developer several times and I have not heard anything back. Currently, SuperTab doesn't work with Mac OS Ventura 13.2. I have always liked using SuperTab and I have used it for quite a long time so I have a lot of muscle memory built up from using Command, Command to launch it.

If SuperTab is kaput, any ideas for a good replacement for it?

TIA 😃

I assume you're referring to SuperTab 5? As far as I know, it is no longer supported. I had been using SuperTab v4 for a long time and it works well. When v5 came out, I upgraded and ran into problems. The sort order of the items in the Tabs is wrong. If I clicked on an app, it should have been moved to the beginning of the Tab. It wasn't. V5 also had the tendency to eat mouse clicks so when I left-clicked in another app, it never registered, the click was ignored. I got so fed up with its bad behavior, I reverted to v4.

Recently, I upgraded to an M2 MacBook Pro and decided to switch back to v5. It's horrible. The Tabs still don't display things in their proper order. If you invoke the v5 tabs, i.e., CMD-TAB, you can't get rid of it unless you select something in one of the Tabs. You used to just press ESC and it was dismissed. I sent a recent email to the developer and never received a reply. No reply, to me, means no support.

Thank you for your feedback on SuperTab. Yes, I was referring to SuperTab 5.1 in my original message. Do you have any recommendations for a reliable replacement?

I wish I could recommend an alternative but I don't know any. I am back on SuperTab 4 and it works just fine--even though it's Intel based--so there is no reason to switch.... Unless there is something better out there that I don't know about.

Will I be able to install SuperTab 4 on my Mac running Ventura 13.2 and if so, where would I find the 4.0 version of SuperTab? I cannot seem to find it on the SuperTab website.

You're going to have to look for a website that still has the old DMG file to download. The date on the executable will be somewhere between Mar - May 2019. I actually still have the DMG installer on my system--I have a tendency to keep download files for a long time--but remember the app is licensed. I don't know if a V5 license will work on it.

A quick search found the following (I chose Softpedia):

Thank you for the information. I was able to get SuperTab 5 working using a Terminal command. Here's a link to the article that describes how to get apps such as SuperTab working in Ventura:

Thanks again!
