Support for webcams

It´s fine with the extended support for mobiles in 10.4.9 but I am dissappointed in the lack of support Apple offers for webcams - virtually nothing. Why is that - I wonder?😡

I plugged in my XBOX 360 camera and so far it has worked with iChat, Address Book, and even Mercury Messenger, I haven't tried other webcams but plug and play with USB webcam that I already have is a bonus in my book 😀
