I thought I would share my experiences running Windows games on a brand new 17" MBP. I installed bootcamp 1.3b and Windows XP in a 32Gb partition so that I could play my favorite Windows games.

I booted to Windows and installed Supreme Commander. It was more than playable, even running at 1920x1200 resolution. Suffice to say that the 17" MBP is a very capable gaming laptop.

Counter-strike at 1920x1200 is nothing short of amazing too.

Great to hear, it was pretty laggy on my 2.0GHz 2GB MBP with 256MB ATI x1600.

    settings

I left all the graphics settings as per the default but ramped up the resolution to 1920x1200 (the max on the HD display). The game was't uber fast but it was still very playable. Turning on anti-aliasing is kind of stupid when you can't even make out the pixels.
