I just finished configuring firefox using tor to surf anonymous. It is badass! You are able to change between no proxy and proxy using tor. It makes you look like you are in a different location on the net. I had a friend check me out when logging in to a webserver and it shows that I was connected out of Germany. The bad part is that is does slow the connection down because of all the different hops it is doing, but worth it.

have fun!

nah, sometimes tor's not worth it, as it looks suspicious in some events (like, I IRC a lot, and using tor to do that would be a huuuuuge pain in the ass). otherwise it's great for those occasional anonymous needs ;)

This is awesome. I've been wanting to do this for a long time but I know nothing about setting up proxy servers. Just a few clicks and it's all working perfectly. I would only need to use it very occasionally, maybe once or twice a year.

I personally do not care for Proxies just because i had some people on my website be IP banned then just proxy in, so at one point i installed a hack to revert most all proxies to original IP and if they were banned keep them banned.

Well I'm puzzled. If these "anonimizers" claim to float as many as 1500 IPs, all change on the fly. Can a web service, or something like a bulletin board catch all possible IPs?

Is there a reliable, even if a pay-for service that allows true anoniminity without any gotchas?

Also, some tunnel to certain servers, where ALL IP info is stripped and re-written. This means your original IP (either your host or your first-hop provider) will never show up?
