This guy doesn’t seem to like the Surface Duo 2. Who are Microsoft aiming it at anyway? Is it like the iPad Mini.

Well the title 'Apple fanboy reacts to...' says enough :). The title alone already sets the (biased) tone.
Also look at the (lots of negative) comments he gets. Not to mention the downvotes on his video.

He clearly made this video with other reasons than to make an unbiased review (clickbait?). What kind of hidden agenda he has goes beyond me, but it clearly has nothing to do with a fair assessment of the product itself. If this is meant as a parody if fails miserably and as a review it fails miserably too.

In short, in my opinion, this video is not funny and misses the mark on all points (except for polarizing things and annoying people).

I stopped watching the video, simply because I wasn't interested in a biased pro-apple "unboxing" At least the title of the YT is accurate, i.e., Apple Fanboy reacts..."

I'm liking the Go 2 and I can see myself getting one, especially if there's some incentives. I don't have a need for it right now, since I'm locked up, but as life gets a little more back to normal, the need for such thing could re-appear.

The whole time watching the video all I could think was, "why does he half the type cover flat instead of propped up like every other Surface?" Then I realized that's the same stupid design Apple has on their keyboards. The slant just feels so much better and makes it much more stable.

Someone sent me this which was actually quite interesting from Justine, the interesting point is that I actually thought she just realised how bad her IPP was with that new $350 keyboard.

Watch from about the 5:40 mark.

Ha.....what a difference. She does look awkward using the camera on the IPP and she certainly knows it.

Justine does also use Surface Products as well as Apple, i think that's why she's more neutral on the Surface. I'm hoping she does a Surface Book 3 video like she did with the Surface Book 2.

While she's an uber-apple fan, I do think she can and does bring some balanced reviews. I can't stand how she gushes on about apple products but at times she does criticize them, such as the camera placement in the linked video

I'll wait for Notebookcheck and on the YoutTube side for Lisa's review (Mobiletechreview). And maybe MKHB, but I just watch his videos because they are made really well. :) Didn't he like the first Surface Laptop a lot?

Thats what I’m waiting for with Surface Book 3! I need to see a few more reviews.

I can almost forgive her for anything but in truth you seldom need too, gushy and perky yes, sometimes frivolous yes but being overly enthusiastic is the mildest form of bias that should be acceptable to all :)

Lisa at MobiletechReview on the SB2 already had her swapping it for her main sketching format I see no reason that the SB3 will disappoint

Some may knock lack of TB3 but there is the new dock and speakers may not be bass enough for some but they are super crisp and clear on the SB2

Think they should of opted for at least 2 colour back lights as white on silver during the day can be annoying where blue would of been subtle

does anyone know if the Microsoft Complete is worth it? I noticed when you go to the checkout page it gives the option of Microsoft Complete for up to two years on Surface Book 3. Is this similar to Apple Care+ ?

I’ve also noticed that the Surface headphones have sold out, even tho they are on pre-order for the U.K and not out yet. This along with the top spec Surface Book 3 15” with 1TB SSD is also sold out. Must be a popular machine or maybe they don’t make very many.

I’d jump on the Microsoft Complete warranty, yes. Haven’t owned W10 machine long enough to use it 😚, but I would always buy it and will do so again. Yes, it is similar to AC+.

Nice to see a timely and balanced review of the Surface Go 2 and the Surface headphones from Justine. Those cans look great. Of course, I look at the Go 2 and miss that kickstand <Makes me kick myself for the wasted tech purchases I made in March*. I smell trade ins...>

As far as stock on MS products, I wouldn’t be surprised if the coronavirus has something to do with limited stock at launch.

Does the Surface X pen work with the Go 2?

I've heard good things about Microsoft Complete. I have never used it myself though, since I am from Europe and warranty from Microsoft (and also Apple) is different here. As I understand it is comparable to Apple Care +.

Here a link to the US MS Complete site:

Yes, all Surface pens are compatible with all surface products.

Does anyone have any feedback into how good the trackpad is on the Surface Laptop 3?

The trackpad on the SL3 uses the same Windows precision drivers/hardware as all Surface devices and those trackpads are reviewed best in class for Windows machines. The SL3 is not in my possession, so I have not used the trackpad of that particular device, but I have no doubt it is exactly the same quality.

Lots of PC Windows reviewers find these trackpads comparable to Mac trackpads, lots of Mac reviewers completely disagree (I want to stay out of that discussion) :p. One thing is for sure: you probably won't find any better on Windows machines.

The trackpad on the SL3 is really good, I had one from the office for a week and had no issues with it, it did what it was supposed to do and did it well, felt really comfortable to use and was responsive and accurate.

I will go there, in my view, nothing beats the Apple trackpad, if you understand the full functionality of it, use it and often then there is nothing better. Pity, it is not attached to a device where the rest of it works as well.

Dave has had a SP6 and 1st hand use of MS Trackpads of course the SB's are just larger and maybe the glass is a bit more premium being on a fixed KB

I am not a multi swipe user so the extra functions are lost on me and even back in the 80's when Wordstar was the power users "Word Processor" I hated it being completely short cut key orientated and I am now lost without menus :)

However are we confusing people as these differences are not so much hardware but software implementation ?

If we used the same metric would we not be saying Windows mouse is so much better because the right click has far more functionality in W10 :)

Of course we don't :) just noting it's gestures that are better for the more adept, being baked in the OS/ Prog's for longer.

When I use to bootcamp my Mac's Apple deliberately dumb down its windows TP drivers and you had to load a small free app to get similar gestures. not sure if it's still needed or widely used now

I never bothered to add the app, to my wifes 12" MB so when I use her laptop the TP is a dog to use so its no surprise many have a slant on this if there bootcamp experience is the only one.

Microsoft Complete is a must IMO just for the accidental damage coverage alone. Go in store, pay $50 deductible and walkout with a replacement. Super Easy. I have had multiple Surface devices and have broken multiple Surface Devices and never had a problem using it. I am clumsy.

If it's anything like the Type Covers on the Surface Pros or like my Surface Book 2, it's pretty much perfect. IMO it's on par with the Mac trackpads but doesnt have the amount of gestures.

The trackpad on the Surface Pro Keyboard is actually good. It feels a little plastic at first but don’t be fooled by that, it’s a good trackpad with great response.

I’m not sure about the Surface Book trackpad but I’m assuming it’s a little more premium than that on the Surface Pro. I think the Pro is more portable than the Book by the looks of it, however the Book is more powerful and the screen detaches so I think that makes up for it.

I’m in the U.K and the only physical store we have is in London (Which is miles away from where I live). It seems like the Microsoft Complete is the same as Apple Care +
