Surface Material of Mid-2015 15" Trackpad?

I just received a new MacBook Pro Mid-2015 15" Retina. I was curious what the material of the trackpad is? Is it "metal" or "glass"?

I also ordered a Moshi PalmGuard which comes with an overlay for the trackpad as well and was wondering if that would interfere with the trackpad's performance?

It's glass.

I had the palmguard on my 2011 MBP and it didn't have any ill effects. Changed the feeling a bit - not nearly as smooth.
