hey, i used to surf when I was in middle school, and now I'm a sophomore in high school, and I want to start again. I went out last week, and I forgot everything.

I have a 6'10'' Realm surfboard that I'm borrowing (which I have to return soon), and a recently purchaced a 5'9'' surf prescriptions shortboard.

Do you think it's possible for me to re-learn everything on a 5'9'' shortboard? I am 5'7'', 100 pounds, and I skate a lot.

Personal Preference

I can't stand shortboards, too finicky, can't have as much fun with smaller waves... The best way I've ever heard it described is that using a shortboard is like having sex with a wave. Using a longboard is like making love to it.

It's not a lot to "re-learn" but it'll feel different. Probably better to learn both styles anyway.
