Yesterday my MacBook started having trouble loading web pages. I've shutdown and rebooted, but even today it is crawling. It's over 3 years old and never had any issues. What steps should I take to investigate the problem?

Have you rebooted your modem and/or router?

Run Activity Monitor and see if anything is eating processor cycles.

You might want to clear out your browser's cache, history, cookies, etc. as well just to be sure

Or try another browser to compare

Thanks. I downloaded Onyx and ran some of the cleaning utilities. Things have improved. I'm confused because I thought the Mac cleared the cache regularly.

Are there any other packages people buy/run for routine maintenance?
