I ordered the Milanese loop band with my watch and I'm honestly surprised that it's priced the same as the classic buckle and leather loop. I tried the classic buckle and it just felt cheap, and the leather loop was kind of boring for me. Given how expensive the link bracelet is, I thought the Milanese loop would be something like 249-349 as a metal alternative to the link bracelet. Many others that I know who also have the Milanese loop comment how it makes the watch look classier and more dressed up at the same price.

Anyone else think the same?

In my opinion the 42mm Stainless Steel pricing should be as follows:

Sport Band $549
Classic Buckle $599
Leather Loop $649
Milanese Loop $699
Link Bracelet $899
Space Black Link $999

All 38mm versions $50 less as is. 38mm Modern Buckle $699

Or simply eliminate the Sport band from the Stainless Steel version, start pricing on the 42mm as it is now at $599 but with the Classic Buckle included and then those that want a Sport band for their SS model can get it for $50.

In the real watch world SS bands are not necessarily more expensive than leather. What is surprising is that Apple can price any of its bands at such multiples over what a similar band would cost at a good watch shop.

For example a replacement 3rd party SS link bracelet at a watch shop runs about $60. A nice faux crocodile leather band is maybe $10 less at $50.

Now the OEM bands for the high end brands are in the multiple hundred, but the quality over what Apple is selling is also infinitely better too. For example, the leather used in Apple's bands is really equivalent to a cast of remnant used for a $599 leather couch sold at a discount furniture shop. No quality there at all.

Steel doesn't mean expensive, and leather doesn't mean cheap.

Just because the Milanese Loop is made from the same material as the more expensive Link Bracelet, doesn't mean it should also be expensive.

The link bracelet is a feat of engineering, right up there with some of the best link bracelet designs around. The Milanese Loop is not.

Apple must be making s killing selling those leather loop bands at $150 a pop, probably cost them $5 to make

I thought the leather and classic bands were somewhat overpriced. Also where I live gets very hot in the summer and thought that any sweat would not be a positive thing for the leather. I had decided on the SS because of the Sapphire & back. Pricing against ordering with the Sports band against the Milanese worked out to be about the same, so ordered the Milanese and am now waiting for my BS for a change out. I thought the Milanese would sell out quickly so ordered that combination first. Still waiting for my BS.
