Surprised by EDU discount

So, I just bought a brand spankin' new BlackBook from the Apple Store here in Baton Rouge, La.

I'm a student at LSU so I was expecting to take advantage of the student discount and save $100, thus paying $1399 for the computer. That's what it's listed as at the edu store online.

To my surprise, it rang up at $1349, so I saved $50 more than I thought I would.

Maybe it's not that interesting to you guys, but I'm wondering if this is typical. Has anyone else experienced this?

Some schools have different deals with Apple. Or the guy rung it wrong.

So you think that maybe the Apple edu store online for LSU doesn't offer as big of a discount as they offer in stores?

Apple retail store, just opened up today.

There may also be some sort of unadvertized special for it being a new store. More likely though, someone rung it up wrong.
