I have a emac and i want to have surround sound on it. So I need a external sound card that has a optical out. Does anyone recommend one? I don't want one that is expensive.

Your source material AND your software you play it with will have to have surround content and capability, naturally.
They don't go cheap. Is there any that don't decode, because i will have a external decoder. Thanks

i believe there are several options that offer a surroound option through firewire or posibly usb. i cant think of any names off the top of my head, but i think they are out there.
