Hi,

(I did search before creating this thread!)

Well today I received a SVCD, but I have know means of playing it. I navigated through the SVCD to the MPG file, but I cannot play it because I do not have the MPEG2 plug in for Quicktime, and don't really want to pay for it!
I tried opening the MPG file with Quicktime, VLC and MPlayer and none worked. I also searched VersionTracker for a converting program but I wasn't really sure what I needed because all the programs mentioned creating SVCD but not getting the video off of them.
Does anyone know of any good software to convert MPEG2 to .mov etc..
I tried FFmpeg, but it wouldn't work could this be because I don't have the Quicktime Mpeg2 plug in?

Thanks for any help.

thanks for the help on converting the mpeg2 file, but I really want to convert the file to .mov or something which is easier to play.
