I have a dead iPhone 6 (black) that has a perfect front panel (Let's assume so). I have another iPhone 6 (black) with a cracked glass. Can I merely swap the 2 front panels? I think so, but my only fear is the thumbprint ID will fail. Will that be an issue? Thank you.

From what I understand you will have problems with the finger ID.

I've done this with an iPhone 5S. As long as the Touch ID is also removed and swapped it will work. It's very easy to do actually. Equally so on the iPhone 6 I imagine.

Not so sure it can be done on the later model iPhones without running into problems with the print ID system.

You just need to move the old home button over to the new screen, and Touch ID will work fine.

Exactly. The Touch ID is paired with the logic board on each individual phone.

As long as you remove the original touch ID and put it on the new screen, you should be fine.
