Why do so many buyers ask what version of IOS is on a phone. All they have to do is upgrade to latest upon receiving it if it isn’t already. What am I missing?

You can update it for them before you ship if they want the latest. Others may prefer an older iOS as well.

People want a specific version for several reasons. Some like to jailbreak, some say certain iPhones have been a better experience on certain IOS versions, etc.
