Swapped phone at Apple store got emailed a receipt with someone else's name?

I purchased an iPhone from AT&T and it had a problem with the speaker. No problems in getting it swapped at the store.


Here is the interesting part. The Genius had me sign his iPad and the receipt has some woman's name and phone number in California on it! (I looked and the black box also had her name on it, and its a bit of a drive being in NC and all, so a tad odd)


Here is the more interesting part.

I was emailed a receipt with her date of purchase, her name and her cell number.

Privacy wise this has me a bit concerned.

I don't think anyone thinks you're attacking Apple. But the way to deal with it is to bring it to their attention.

How does asking if you brought the problem and your concerns up with Apple make anyone a fanboy or imply that you're attacking them?

Since you didn't mention you talked with Apple in your first post, that would seem to be the next logical step.

Anyway, I was actually able to locate the woman on the receipt, sent her a FaceBook message. Will give her a copy of it to talk to Apple as its her info.

Contacted Apple, they gave me a incident number and said, "gee we can swap out your phone if you are still having trouble."

Completely ignored the privacy issue.

Not sure why they would keep the original purchasers info with a refurb phone?
